"BLAST OFF" |
I can't explain to you how excited I am!!!! Cameron is finally blasting off w/ Rocket! I introduced him to "Little Einsteins" long before he was even thought to be able to focus on television. Lol... I know that isn't/wasn't the best thing to have done, but oh well! I love the classical music and that they travel the world! Even I learn something new when I watch an episode with Cameron...
Anyhoooo, I've been sitting Cameron in my lap and have been patting his legs and lifting up his arms to help Rocket blast off for about a year now and Cameron FINALLY did it on his own today!!!! Even his vocabulary seems to be getting better... he kept trying to say so many different words today! I am/was so proud of him! So, back to my story... Of course, he first did it when he "thought" I wasn't looking! Lol... He's just like his mama! When I was a child, my dad ALWAYS played George Strait in his pickup and always asked me to sing along with him, but I never would sing when he'd ask me to, I'd try to sneak in a word or two when he'd look away, or so I thought. I remember plain as day, at the age of 5, "Baby's Gotten Good At Goodbye" came on and I lip sang it like there was no tomorrow, and just when I thought my daddy wasn't watching, he started cheering me on in his rearview mirror. I was embarrassed, of course, but that helped to break the ice and from that moment forward I sang and sang... still do! :) Well, that's exactly what happened today on the way to my hometown. I turned on "Little Einsteins" on the iPad and, of course, my rearview mirror was focused on Cameron (Cameron obviously didn't realize that) and, sure enough, he started patting his legs and raised his arms at the time they sang, "blast off!" And, of course, I started saying, "YAY!" and laughing hysterically, with tears in my eyes! It took me back to that day in my daddy's blue chevy! Cameron freaked out slightly... He had that look on his face, like how did you see me do that, but then he started clapping and has been blasting off ever since!
Maybe he's ready to blast off on his potty chair, too?!?!?!
I've been sitting Cameron on his potty chair for about a month now and have tried my best to explain to a 16 month old, now a 17 month old, what he's suppose to do. Every time I go into the bathroom, I try my best to sit Cameron on the potty chair, sometimes with his clothes on and sometimes off... just so he'd get the idea. Now, he'll sit on it on his own, and a few weeks ago, he sat down on his potty chair, with his diaper and clothes on, and pooped in his diaper! I was so proud of him and thought, "It's a start!" Now, he's got to the point to where he'll bring me a diaper when he's peed or pooped in his diaper, and I'll say, "Okay, let's go change your diaper!" And, there he is, following right behind me to his changing table in his room w/ not a single problem. It's so cute!
Tomorrow is a new day and my fingers are crossed! Now that he's helping Rocket "blast off" maybe he'll blast right off into using his potty chair like a big boy! And saying, mommy! Wink, wink!
Love these sweet pictures and video I've taken of my little guy!
And, HE'LL leave you with a smile...
He is one handing it and sort of beat it to the "blast off" part in this video but it's still a cute one!
